R.W.R. McDonald (Rob) is an award-winning author, a kiwi living in Melbourne with his two daughters and one HarryCat. His debut novel, The Nancys, won Best First Novel in the 2020 Ngaio Marsh Awards, as well as being a finalist in the Best Novel category. It was shortlisted for Best First Novel in the 2020 Ned Kelly Awards, and Highly Commended for an Unpublished Manuscript in the 2017 Victorian Premier’s Literary Awards. 

Nancy Business, his second novel was published 1st June 21.

R.W.R McDonald is an award-winning author, who is from the small town of Balclutha, New Zealand so he is a kiwi. He grew up on a sheep and venison farm, so therefore, he likes animals. McDonald is a Kiwi and Queer dad who is currently living in Melbourne, Australia, thus making him. He currently lives there with his rainbow family accordingly, it is a big family. His family includes his two daughters, HarryCat and Stevie Nicks the chicken so it is a nice family!
His debut novel, The Nancys, was released in 2019. The Nancys follows 11-year-old Tippy Chan, who creates a team with her Uncle and his boyfriend. Together they form ‘The Nancys’ to explain they want to solve the murder mystery in Riverstone. He has won a number of awards with his debut novel, The Nancys. He won Best First Novel in the 2020 Ngaio Marsh Awards, and was a finalist for the Best Novel category. The Nancys was also shortlisted for Best First Novel in the 2020 Ned Kelly Awards, and was Highly Commended for an Unpublished Manuscript in the 2017 Victorian Premier’s Literary Awards. Nancy Business, out now, can be read as a standalone novel and has remarkable reviews.
